Merrill L. Kramer, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kramer, founder and CEO of Alternegy Holdings, has worked for 25 years as a lawyer and business advisor in the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable energy projects.  Before he founded Alternegy Holdings Mr. Kramer was a project finance partner with a major New York law firm, serving as Chair of the firm’s Derivatives and Structured Products practice.  Mr. Kramer has advised clients in the development, construction, and financing of renewable energy and other energy infrastructure projects representing more than $20 billion in invested capital.   The law firm in which he was a partner was a major advisor to the renewable energy industry.  It has typically been involved in approximately 45 percent of all domestic ethanol projects and 25 percent of all domestic biodiesel projects.  Mr. Kramer has been ranked for the past three years as one of the top energy lawyers in the United States by Chambers USA.  He is listed in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by Washington, D.C.’s Super Lawyers as one of the top five Projects lawyers in Washington, D.C. and is listed in The Legal 500 as a leading derivatives lawyer in the U.S.  Mr. Kramer was awarded lifetime membership this year by Continental Who's Who for outstanding leadership and achievement in the legal profession and has been given the highest peer-review ranking possible by Martindale-Hubbell.  Mr. Kramer started his career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission where he was a senior member of the FERC’s Task Force charged with formulating rules and regulations to encourage alternative energy projects.

John Decker, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Decker has over twenty years of comprehensive senior management experience in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, operations, sales, purchasing, accounting, and finance – with a particular focus on the chemicals industry. He has provided effective leadership for organizations through their critical startup periods, major growth periods, and turnarounds while continuing to provide effective day-to-day leadership and team building.

Prior to joining Alternegy Holdings Mr. Decker was Chief Operating Officer of Clean Coast Technologies, Inc., an environmental product and safety supply business located in Houston, Texas. For ten years prior to that Mr. Decker was President of Oil Sorbent Solutions, Inc., a chemical manufacturing business located in Port Arthur, Texas where he turned around the company in the first year of operation to achieve a 20% increase in net operating profits. In past years Mr. Decker has held senior management positions in both manufacturing and distribution businesses in the environmental, chemical, safety, and automotive aftermarket fields located in the US and Europe. Mr. Decker has served on several corporate boards and is active with charities in the Houston area.

Mr. Decker received a Masters of Business Administration in 1989 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a BS in Business Administration in 1981 from Auburn University.

Robert I. Bogin, Vice President Finance

Mr. Bogin has over twenty years of senior management experience in finance, software and telecommunications.  Mr. Bogin started his career as a tax attorney before leaving the law to found Capitol Multimedia, Inc., an entertainment software company that he helped to take public.  Before joining Alternegy Holdings, Mr. Bogin founded and operated a privately held telecommunications company that sold the use of its network on a wholesale basis to the world’s largest telecom companies.
